The Awards Process

Selection is made by an independent Awards Panel. This chaired by the Civic Awards Convenor, Bruce Buchanan, Executive Committee members Douglas Ogle and Mike Duckering, a Borough Councillor, and invited assessors from local business and organisations.

The awards consist of an engraved glass rose bowl, an illuminated citation and a plaque. Commendations, with an illuminated citation, may also be made in each category.

A short list of around 20 nominated projects are visited by the panel prior to adjudication. In making their assessments, the panel takes into account factors such as context, originality and quality of design, materials, workmanship and standard of restoration.

For further information, please contact Bruce Buchanan.
